Tehnopol links local and international competences in energy and environmental technologies. We offer companies help in finding collaboration partners for going on international markets and technology development in Europe and beyond.

In 2014 Tehnopol in collaboration with PAKRI Science and Industrial Park (PAKRI) launched the energy and environmental technology sector (green technologies or greentech in short) with the aim to draw together local and international knowledge, skills and related organizations and through this co-operation provide greentech companies business services, organize joint projects, training programmes, foreign missions, etc. In addition PAKRI, as also focused on greentech, offers bigger industrial companies testing grounds in a variety of sizes for testing new solutions. pakri_science__industrial_park

The community started with a couple of start-ups and growth companies and is growing fast. In the portfolio we have companies developing remote sensing systems for the sea and ports, smart streetlights, remote control and monitoring systems of the electric power distribution, remote control border guard and security systems, novel energy services, smart house solutions, energy monitoring and metering systems, passive houses, product interior design, automation and many other areas.

Main services:

Besides PAKRI an important partner in developing the Estonian greentech sector is Estonian Development Fund. For engaging and educating the public spare Tehnopol collaborates with Norden Estonian Representation and Estonian Ministry of the Environment and for fostering the entrepreneurial community and export activities with many enterprise unions (e.g. Smart City Lab, Estonian Renewable Energy Association, Estonian Wind Power Association and Wind Power Cluster, and Estonian Waste Management Association and Waste Recycling Cluster, Rakvere Smart House niaCompetence Centre, Estonian Wooden House Association and Wooden Houses Cluster).  Internationally we actively cooperate with KIC InnoEnergy for preparing innovative energy related technology based companies ready for investments from KIC and in general stimulating technology transfer from universities to businesses. We also work together with Nordic Innovation Accelerator™ (NIA), which is an Open Innovation Platform that includes services like the Call Catalyst & Match Maker online tools and the Cleantech Venture Day™ event. Startups can join the programme for free

In addition we also collaborate with Council of the Baltic Sea States, Cleantech Scandinavia, LADEC, Cleantech Finland at Finpro, FundingBox and Climate KIC.

Due to the closeness of Tallinn University of Technology both organizationally and physically (situated in the same campus area) we have a good overview of energy and environmental technologies developed in the universities and other research centres.
