Healthtech industry in the Netherlands – cooperation and business opportunities


On the 15th of June from 1PM-5PM, Enterprise Estonia in cooperation with Science Park Tehnopol, Connected Health Cluster and Dutch Embassy in Estonia will organise a seminar for Estonian health technology companies interested in the opportunities in the Netherlands.

Although the Dutch healthcare system is among the most advanced in the world, there is significant room for improvement where it comes to e-Health and its acceptance. Rather than technical issues like standards, authentication and electronic health records that still need to be addressed in the Netherlands, it is probably more about how processes are redesigned and how people across the system are encouraged to start thinking differently.

Given the upsurge of phenomena like remote monitoring, big data analyses and value based healthcare, selling ICT solutions to healthcare providers goes well beyond making ERP solutions fit a specific industry sector. Also, political and regulatory developments need to sync in with technological capabilities touching on standards and authentication. Another topic we have to look into and protect are the privacy regulations and the way the citizens feel about this. Kees Donker (OIZ) reveals what companies entering the Dutch market should prepare themselves for.
