The Disciplined Entrepreneurship Bootcamp 2026, based on a methodology developed at MIT (the Massachusetts Institute of Technology), will bring together 11 Estonian innovation teams aiming to take solutions grounded in research and development to the next level: clearer market and customer insight, a stronger value proposition and a realistic path towards a scalable business model. The five-day intensive bootcamp will take place at Tehnopol from 2 to 6 February and will culminate in a Demo Day, where the teams will present their market readiness and growth plans.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the Disciplined Entrepreneurship methodology?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Disciplined Entrepreneurship is a systematic approach created by MIT Professor Bill Aulet<\/strong>, combining MIT\u2019s problem\u2013solution thinking with practical entrepreneurial experience. The methodology guides companies step by step from understanding the market to building a scalable business model, helping to mitigate typical early-stage risks: who exactly are we creating value for, is the problem significant enough, how do we reach the buyer, and how do we build a business logic that can grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The methodology is taught at hundreds of universities and is used by technology companies worldwide. Long-term results show that approximately 70% of start-ups that have followed the methodology are still operating after five years, and more than 60% have successfully raised capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A leap forward in five days<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While many start-ups operate on the principle of \u201cfail fast\u201d, this methodology helps teams build a resilient, revenue-generating and scalable business \u2013 step by step and evidence-based. The bootcamp combines guidance from international trainers, hands-on mentoring and workshop-style progress together as a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the trainers, the impact of the programme is often more than simply \u201cnew knowledge\u201d \u2013 it also changes mindsets and improves the quality of teamwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou can also learn the methodology by reading the book. The value of the bootcamp lies in helping teams internalise the mindset behind the methodology and apply it in real-life situations, so that it becomes the foundation for everything they create in the future. Another major shift happens on a human level: in a high-intensity, high-stakes environment, the team becomes the most important factor \u2013 participants learn to work with different personalities and behavioural styles, to trust one another and to act as efficiently as possible,\u201d said programme trainer Marius Ursache<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is the programme for?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The programme invited applications from companies registered in Estonia with international growth ambitions, developing an innovative product or service based on expert knowledge or R&D results. Preference was given to teams at an early stage of commercialisation whose solutions include a significant intellectual property component.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Tehnopol\u2019s Head of Business Development, Martin Goro\u0161ko<\/strong>, said that since 2025 Tehnopol has made it a strategic ambition to significantly increase the number of deep tech companies in Estonia. \u201cWe see this as the most sensible step at the moment to invigorate our business environment, because complex technological challenges are on the table, artificial intelligence is here, and universities are showing a very strong willingness to commercialise research. Bringing an MIT-rooted programme to Estonia has come at exactly the right time: our deep tech companies will gain the right guidance for rapid growth, while we also learn from the world\u2019s best experience on how to support such companies in conquering markets \u2013 now and in the future,\u201d said Goro\u0161ko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
