Memorandums of Understanding for long-term collaboration were signed between Uganda Healthcare Federation, Swecare Foundation and Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol on the 21st March 2018 in Kampala, Uganda. The aim of the collaboration agreements is to facilitate the entry of Estonian and Swedish health technology companies to the Ugandan market, and to support Ugandan companies in Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Piret Hirv, the Health Technology Manager at Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol<\/a> sees great potential in the Ugandan market, \u201eUganda offers great opportunities for health companies. It is a growing market with a well-developed private sector, and there is high demand for solutions that help healthcare services to become more efficient\u201c. Anna Riby, Swecare Foundation\u2019s Project Manager working with distant target markets added, \u201eWe already have a good experience of working together with the Uganda Healthcare Federation, but having both sides commit to long-term cooperation will definitely benefit companies both in Sweden as well as Uganda.\u201c\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The signing of the Memorandums of Understanding took place during a business mission to Rwanda and Uganda organised by Swecare Foundation<\/a>. The agreements were the final step of the Ugandan program of the CB Health Access project.<\/p>\n

CB Health Access project was initiated in 2016 between Estonian, Finnish, Latvian and Swedish technology organizations to support entrepreneurship in health technologies. The program facilitates the entry of Estonian, Latvian, Swedish and Finnish health tech companies to distant markets \u2013 South Korea, USA, India and Uganda. CB Health Access provides the companies with an introduction of the target market, individual coaching both from the home country and from target market experts, market information, business missions, and identifying and contacting potential partners, and business missions. The program has a strong focus for the companies to achieve sales in the chosen market. The program is financed by Central Baltic Interreg Program.<\/p>\n
