The City of Tallinn, together with Tehnopol Science and Business Park, await competition applications that will make the city\u2019s services and environment more comfortable and modern for residents and visitors alike.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best proposals submitted to the\nTallinnovation competition can present their solutions to a commission\nconsisting of smart city experts from both the City of Tallinn and Tehnopol.\nThree solutions can receive the maximum amount of support, yet ideas that\nrequire in-kind contributions, such as trialing e-solutions, data collection,\nand the like are also welcome. In addition, competition winners will receive\ncity contacts, advice, and support from Tehnopol\u2019s mentor network. The size of\nthe innovation fund for 2020 is 50,000 euros. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aivar Riisalu, the deputy mayor of\nTallinn, said the aim of the Tallinnovation competition is to bring modern\nsolutions to the cityscape that develop the city and make it smarter, more\npeople-friendly, more economical, and more open. \u201cWe want to enliven the\ncooperation between the city and technology companies by opening the door to\ninnovative products and services that make the lives of city residents and\nvisitors more comfortable,\u201d Riisalu said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition awaits smart city\nideas that offer viable alternatives to existing solutions or that bring a\ncompletely new approach to the following focus areas: tourism, circular\neconomy, community areas, e-services, and Tallinn-Helsinki cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Goro\u0161ko, the business\ndevelopment manager for Tehnopol Science and Business Park, said that Tehnopol\nhas supported companies offering smart city solutions for many years with\nincubation, business development advice, and a test environment. \u201cOur\nultimate goal is to make our living environment and everyday services smarter,\nmore comfortable, and more sustainable. To do this, we need companies that\noffer inventive solutions, practical advice that supports their growth,\nfinancial support, and a test environment,\u201d he added.
