Accessibility

We want as many people as possible to be able to use our website, whatever device or assistive technologies they may be using or whatever particular needs they may have. We develop and manage the website following the principle that the content should be clear, useful, understandable and robust.

Tehnopol’s new website has been designed to comply with the accessibility requirements in §32 of the Public Information Act and the European standard EN 301 549.

What we have considered to ensure accessibility

The principles we follow for our website

  • the website can be used on a computer, tablet or mobile device
  • the content must have a logical structure and be easy for humans to read
  • forms, buttons, menus and messages must be understandable
  • it must be possible to use the website with a keyboard
  • error messages must be clear and user-friendly
  • the Estonian and English user interfaces must be consistent
  • accessibility is analysed and improved regularly

Using the website

Keyboard navigation

It must be possible to navigate the website using a keyboard. The Tab key moves the focus to the next item, and the element highlighted can be activated by pressing the Enter key.

Increasing content size

The website content can be enlarged using the standard zoom functions of the web browser. This can be done in most browsers using Ctrl and + or Ctrl and -, and on a Mac using Cmd and + or Cmd and -.

Screen readers and assistive technologies

The website has been designed to work with the most commonly used screen readers and other assistive technologies. We strive to ensure that headings, links, form fields and other important content are machine-readable and presented in a logical order.
