Science Park Tehnopol celebrates the 15th anniversary!

2017
A new office building complex of 7500 m2 at Mäealuse 2/2 will be completed in the campus, one of its anchor tenants is the Information Technology and Development Center of the Ministry of the Interior. New restaurant, beauty salon, massage and carwash open their doors. Construction begins at the heart of the city to open a new large sports club.

2015
Tehnopol continues with renovations to the remaining blocks of the Cybernetics building. Work starts on an extensive renewal project during which the entire campus will receive a makeover. Investment plans foresee renovation and environmental improvement works on Blocks 3-6 of the Cybernetics building. The goal is to turn Tehnopol into a modern and intelligent campus that is the preferred base and meeting place for innovative companies, scientists and students.

2013
The first stage of the renovations to the Cybernetics building – the cornerstone of the Science Park – are launched, including a new look for Block 1. In recent years the Cybernetics building has hosted innovative businesses and has been a launching pad for companies such as Skype Technologies and Cybernetica. Reconstruction aims to preserve the dignified quality of the building and at the same time turn it into a place of inspiration for new companies.

2010
Tehnopol signs construction cooperation contracts with YIT Construction and Astlanda Construction. The contracts define the construction of two new office and laboratory buildings. These two real estate developments will be accomplished in 2012 and add up more than 20 000 square meters of high quality space.

The detail plan of Tehnopol real estate development is approved. According to the detail plan Tehnopol is starting to demolish old buildings and start constructing new ones.

2004
Tallinn University of Technology Innovation Centre foundation was united with Tallinn Technology Park development foundation. Tallinn Technology Park development foundation started to overtake the assets and buildings. The Park started to operate with the assets. Tehnopol was taken into everyday use as the trademark of Tallinn Technology Park development foundation.

The Government of Estonia, Tallinn University of Technology and the city of Tallinn founded the Tallinn Technology Park development foundation.

2002
The business plan and founding documents of Tallinn Technology Park were drawn. Tallinn University of Technology Innovation Centre foundation and the city of Tallinn opened a business incubator building for starting companies and business ideas. Four companies started operating in new building.

2001
Enterprise Estonia foundation, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and the city of Tallinn concluded the documentation for establishing the Tallinn Technology Park.

1998
Tallinn University of Technology Innovation Centre foundation was founded. The aim of the foundation was to prepare the founding of Technology Park by starting first-hand business services and creating business networks. Tallinn University of Technology Innovation Centre foundation created the ground for establishing Tehnopol. Tallinn University of Technology Innovation Centre foundation joined the membership of International Association of Science Parks (IASP).
