Estonian health technology start-up Triumf Health is paving the way to the Swedish market

Triumf Health, a member of the Connected Health cluster, has joined hands with Uppsala University and an insurance company based in Sweden to test the suitability of the Triumfland Saga in the Swedish cultural environment in a pilot project in the Swedish market and prepare for nationwide implementation.

Dr. Kadri Haljas, the founder and CEO of Triumf Health is especially proud to be active in Sweden, as they are truly the world leaders in research on mental health innovations. “More importantly, they are also actively implementing such innovations on a national level,” she adds.

“Deploying our solution all across Sweden is also our goal, which is why we have partnered with Uppsala University and the Skandia foundation “Idéer för Livet” to test the suitability of Triumfland Saga in that cultural setting and to prepare for national launch,” Haljas confirms.

Dr. Kadri Haljas has been advocating the importance of implementing mental health innovations for years and has recently joined as a mentor at the Connected Health Cluster. “Technology allows us to improve the quality and access to care and this is especially important when it comes to mental health, where the progress from awareness to meaningful action needs to happen immediately”, she says. Even though the field of mental health is hugely underfunded, we must keep pushing and bring innovations to market, only then we can finally see a much needed disruption.

Triumf Health has developed a preventative behavioral intervention platform where personalized support is delivered to children through a mobile game environment. Dr. Haljas explains that all interventions that are being developed, must take the needs of end users into account. She continues: “It is nearly impossible to create something useful for children if they are not involved in this process. Children are very critical and it is difficult to keep their attention, so if you propose something to them that they don’t find appealing, you will find yourself in a situation where a solution with impressive impact on paper is rendered meaningless when not used”.

Triumf Health has taken the feedback from children very seriously, which is one of the main reasons why their platform is so well received by children globally. One of their products called Triumf Hero for children with chronic illnesses has been available through research collaboration in various hospitals globally. But their main focus is currently on supporting children irrespective of their health situation through their second product called Triumfland Saga. There is a huge need to utilize technology to provide ubiquitous access to mental health services, that said, the product has the potential of relieving the global mental health crisis.
