Greentech sector manager: developments and plans of Asia-Clean project

It’s pretty crazy times. Right now the entrepreneurs can act wisely, seek advice and prepare for growth. In such crises, the power lines are being redistributed, there are winners and losers. The same is true in Malaysia. It’s the best time to make plans, to set a strategy.

What has been done so far?

We travelled from February 7 to February 17 in Kuala Lumpur. A total of 17 different meetings took place during the week and we established very good contacts at government and private level.

We have good contacts in the following organizations: Salcon Petroleum, Embassy of Finland, Business Finland, Invest Selangor, Invest KL, MIDA’s Green Technology Division, MATRADE and others. In the future, we will be introduced to ports, state-run smart city areas, energy companies and more.

What is going to happen in the near future?

In order to start doing intros, to schedule online meetings, you need to get more specific and do the following:

Our contract partner is Nordic House Sdn Bhd, Kuala Lumpur. Company Manager Jari Niemi conducts an online interview with all of you. Based on the information gathered, you will develop a personal go-to-market plan with contacts and strategies. Very valuable knowledge from someone who has done business in the market for more than 15 years and has good contacts. They have built luxury ships in Malaysia that operate as a hotel in Gibraltar. They have an office in the centre of KL (can also be used if needed) and support staff to process information and carry out activities on site.

What are the future plans?

We requested an extension of the project for 3 months. So we can implement the plans well and make one visit to the target market in October 2020 and another in the spring of 2021.

The trip to Malaysia is scheduled for 41 weeks, October 5-9.
Please put in calendars! You should arrive on a Saturday and definitely in the evening, then there is a day to adjust and jet lag is minimal.

There will be 2 major conferences in KL this week at SCA20 and IGEM. We also organize a Nordic stand at IGEM. We also organize receptions with entrepreneurs, investors, state representatives and ambassadors. Ideal for creating contacts and hosting contacts created for you. You can schedule your appointments in advance.
