Urban Tech offers direct funding for SME-s and startups to internationally pilot their solutions
Tehnopol Science and Business Park is taking part in the Urban Tech project since last year. Start-ups and SMEs can now apply for funding of up to 55,000 euros for innovative technological solutions in the areas of Smart City, Green Tech and Health Tech as part of the EU project URBAN TECH.
The total value of the direct money support to pilot projects is almost 2 million euros, the Europe-wide application phase runs until September 14, 2022.
If 68% of the population will live in urban areas by 2050, urban systems must also adapt to this growth in order to create a sustainable environment. This requires innovative solutions in the areas of Health Tech, Smart City and Green Tech. In this respect, URBAN TECH wants to accelerate the competitive success of European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by bringing new or significantly improved products with higher value to the market.
Over 300 challenges were collected across Europe from corporations, entrepreneurs, local governments, researchers, policy makers, service developers and IT developers, for which solutions are now being sought. Check out the URBAN TECH Virtual Library of Challenges and choose one or more challenges and submit your idea!
The winning teams will be announced at the end of October, and will then have the opportunity to discuss and further develop ideas with the challenge owners. The best teams are included in a mentoring and accelerator program and have the opportunity to receive funding for the further development of the idea and solution.
Open Call was launched on June 22, 2022, applications will be accepted until September 14, 2022. More information about the Open Call and the guidelines how to participate, click HERE!
