Tehnopol showcased the scope of Estonian technology entrepreneurship at Latitude59

Latitude59 once again brought together founders, investors, experts and ecosystem leaders in Tallinn to discuss the next steps in technology entrepreneurship. For Tehnopol, it was another valuable opportunity to show the impact of our work across startups, accelerators and science-based entrepreneurship.

Over the course of two days, around 20 companies connected to Tehnopol’s programmes and projects took to the stages at Latitude59. They included dual-use and defence technology solutions, early-stage startups, teams with strong growth ambitions, and science- and technology-based ideas looking for a route to market.

Companies from the NATO DIANA Estonian Accelerator had the opportunity to present their solutions both at a dedicated side event and on the Latitude59 Pitching Stage. SkyFi, HIGHTEK, Datambit, Aereus, VIG-SEC DRONE, Unplugged, CulturePulse, EYE2DRIVE, MAPS Messaging, Quantum Quest, Blue Team Intelligence and Datifex all took the stage. Their solutions clearly demonstrated the growing interest in technologies with potential applications in both civilian and defence sectors.

Tehnopol Accelerator companies Ethos, Kibo, Evelyn, DuoTale, Spiiker and IRIS also appeared on the Latitude59 stage. Alongside them, Akuvool, Kulg, Spiiker, Urban Farm, WiseClean, Avolve Nordic Finland, Test2Deploy and WAB Electronics presented their solutions at the Zebra ScaleUP Demo Day. Together, they painted a picture of a highly diverse group of companies and development stages – from early teams to those already working on scaling, new markets and international growth.

Tehnopol was also represented in several content discussions at Latitude59. Anne-Liisa Elbrecht, Head of Tehnopol Accelerator, took part in a conversation on the role of accelerators at a time when artificial intelligence can increasingly support idea validation, business model testing and product development. Anu Puusaag, Head of DeepTech at Tehnopol, spoke with Kärt Tomberg about why science-based breakthroughs need deliberate support in order to grow, and why not every scientific discovery necessarily needs to scale as a traditional startup.

On Friday, the Prototron Demo Day also took to the Pitching Stage, bringing fresh ideas and early-stage technology solutions in front of the audience.

In addition, visitors could meet Tehnopol in the demo area, where we introduced our activities and programmes and spoke with entrepreneurs about their next steps.

Latitude59 confirmed that the next generation of Estonian technology entrepreneurship no longer fits into one narrow category. Through Tehnopol’s programmes, solutions are reaching the market in areas ranging from defence technology to wellbeing technologies, from deep tech to urban and green solutions. Our role is to help these ideas reach real users, partners, investors and international opportunities faster.
