Tehnopol’s mentor community came together to strengthen collaboration and share experiences
On 14 October, mentors from a wide range of fields gathered at Tehnopol’s office to share experiences, exchange ideas and strengthen collaboration within the community. The event provided an opportunity to learn more about Tehnopol’s programmes and mentoring approach, while exploring how to better support startups and scale-ups.
The event was opened by Agnes Roos, CEO of Tehnopol, Anne-Liisa Elbrecht, Head of Tehnopol Accelerator, and Maarit Jalakas, Administrative Manager of Business Development Services. They provided an overview of Tehnopol’s accelerator and growth programmes, the services available to companies and the role mentors play in supporting business development. The session also explored how to make collaboration between mentors and companies as effective as possible.
A key part of the event was dedicated to sector-specific roundtable discussions, where mentors worked in smaller groups to share their experiences, discuss industry challenges and explore ways to further develop mentoring practices. The discussions covered six areas: deeptech, artificial intelligence, healthtech, defence and dual-use technologies, film and multimedia, and digital solutions. The roundtables were led by Tehnopol’s sector leads and experts Anu Puusaag, Rauno Varblas, Paulin Jürjens, Vootele Päi, Kristi Jõeäär and Tiiu Treier.
The event also gave the Tehnopol team an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the mentors’ experience, strengths and interests, helping us connect them with the companies that can benefit most from their expertise. Feedback from the mentors was overwhelmingly positive, with participants particularly appreciating the opportunity to exchange experiences with fellow experts and make new connections. The discussions were followed by informal networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
Tehnopol’s mentor network brings together nearly 200 experts whose knowledge and experience help companies make informed decisions, overcome challenges and reach their next milestones faster. Available to companies supported by Tehnopol, the network covers a broad range of fields, from artificial intelligence, deeptech and healthtech to business development, finance, investment, legal advice, marketing and exports.
