An international 48-hour hackathon where teams develop innovative solutions to key challenges in Europe’s defence sector

The hackathon

The EUDIS Defence Hackathon is a Europe-wide defence innovation hackathon that will take place simultaneously in eight European countries. EUDIS, the EU Defence Innovation Scheme, is a European Union defence innovation initiative.

Objective

The hackathon is intended to promote new technologies, startups and innovative solutions for use in the defence sector.

The hackathon brings together innovators, technology enthusiasts, experts and people working in defence to develop practical solutions that can strengthen Europe’s defence capabilities, cybersecurity and resilience. Participants will get the chance to work on real-life challenges, develop their ideas with the support of mentors, and build connections within the European defence and technology community.

Who is the hackathon for?

The EUDIS Defence Hackathon is aimed at students, early-career professionals, startup founders, engineers, developers, designers, researchers and other innovative thinkers who want to contribute to advancing Europe’s security and defence capabilities.

Organisers and partners:
The EUDIS Defence Hackathon is delivered through Europe-wide collaboration. The programme is being run by Civitta, CARSA, Cecoforma and Tehnopol in cooperation with local organisers in eight European countries.

The EUDIS Defence Hackathon is funded by the European Defence Fund, which supports research, development and innovation for defence in Europe.
