Startup story: EventPanel X Tehnopol Startup Incubator
Dozens of high-potential startups develop their products and services every year in the Tehnopol Startup Accelerator. One of them is EventPanel.
EventPanel is an analytics governance platform that provides a single, always up-to-date source of truth for all analytics events. It enables teams to define, agree on, and document every product event, automatically generate production-ready code, and synchronize events across all platforms. As a result, engineers, product managers, analysts, and QA teams stay aligned, human errors are eliminated, and analytics tracking remains consistent and reliable.
EventPanel was founded by Evgenii Sukhanov and Dmitry Preobrazhenskiy, both engineers with experience at Bolt. Having worked on large-scale, data-driven products, they saw firsthand how unreliable analytics slows teams down and undermines decision-making.
Let’s get to know EventPanel better!
How did you come up with the idea to create a startup?
“Product analytics is a core part of modern products. The quality of collected data directly affects how fast a business can grow, how quickly decisions are made, and how the product evolves over time.
We saw that analytics workflows run through the entire feature lifecycle – from idea generation and analytics design to implementation, testing, and ongoing usage. Yet in practice, teams were constantly struggling with analytics documentation and governance. Existing tools didn’t work out of the box, while in-house solutions were expensive, fragile, and difficult to scale. This gap between how important analytics is and how poorly it’s supported led us to build EventPanel.”
What have been the biggest challenges/failures and the biggest wins so far?
“The biggest challenge has been replacing deeply ingrained internal tools and spreadsheets with a new way of working. Analytics processes are often built over years, and teams are cautious about changing something that directly affects their data and decision-making.
The biggest win has been seeing teams move from skepticism to clarity once EventPanel becomes part of their workflow. When analytics specifications, implementation, and testing finally come together in one system, teams work with less friction, fewer mistakes, and noticeably higher speed — without needing to reinvent their process.”
What sets your startup apart from competitors?
“EventPanel is built around effortless analytics workflows and a best-in-class user experience for engineers, analysts, and QA. Instead of competing with analytics tools, we deliberately removed everything that creates friction. We don’t require SDKs, we don’t collect user data, and we don’t replace real-time analytics platforms like Mixpanel or GA4 — we work alongside them.
We focused entirely on the analytics development process itself and made it simpler and more efficient for every role in the team. Engineers can create and update events directly from code using MCP, and code generation ensures documentation is always up to date. Product managers and analysts get a single source of truth for all analytics events, clear visibility into what’s shipped in the latest release, and notifications when analytics change. As a result, analytics specifications have never been easier to create, maintain, and trust.”
Why did you apply to the Startup Accelerator?
“We applied to the Startup Accelerator to accelerate growth, validate our go-to-market strategy, and learn from experienced mentors. Being part of a strong startup ecosystem helps us scale faster and more deliberately.”
Where do you see your startup in 1 year? And where in 5 years?
“In one year, we aim to become a go-to analytics governance solution for modern product teams in Europe. In five years, we see EventPanel as a global standard for analytics automation, embedded into how product teams build and ship data-driven products.”
Who is the next (Estonian) unicorn?
“We believe the next Estonian unicorn will emerge from automation-first ideas. Human time is the most valuable resource, and AI-driven approaches that eliminate manual, repetitive work will unlock massive value across industries.”
Which books/podcasts/publications and influencers in your field do you follow and would recommend to other aspiring entrepreneurs?
“We recommend Blue Ocean Strategy and The Lean Startup as foundational reading for aspiring founders. Both provide valuable perspectives on differentiation, experimentation, and building products that truly solve market problems.”
