Startup Story: Evie Health X Tehnopol Startup Incubator
Tehnopol Startup Incubator runs several specialised accelerator programmes each year to support early-stage companies, help them build connections and enter the market. One of these is the AI Accelerator, which selects startups developing AI-powered solutions. Evie Health is among this year’s participants.
Evie Health is an AI-powered app for personalized pregnancy and postpartum pelvic floor care, combining rehabilitation programs, daily guided exercises, educational content, access to women’s health specialists, and 24/7 AI support. The company was co-founded by Juan Dabvid Giraldo, Software Engineer with 10+ experience working with startups in USA and Europe like Shopify, Helpling, Glossier, and Tatiana Chavarriaga, a Physiotherapist and MIT innovator under 35 in LATAM. with more than 5 years of experience, working with digital health and rehabilitation in 3 different countries (Brazil, Colombia and Germany).
How did you come up with the idea to create a startup?
Tatiana Chavarriaga: “The idea came from years of treating women who struggled without proper pelvic health care, combined with my own difficult postpartum recovery. We saw how inaccessible and expensive existing solutions were, which inspired us to build a scalable, personalized, and accessible solution.”
What have been the biggest challenges/failures and the biggest wins so far?
“Our biggest challenge has been breaking the taboo around pelvic health and educating women that their symptoms are treatable. Our biggest wins include onboarding over 6,000 users, delivering 5,000+ online therapy sessions in six months, and seeing high engagement and measurable symptom improvement.”
What sets your startup apart from competitors?
“Evie combines clinical expertise with AI-driven personalization. We offer daily adaptive programs and continuous support tailored to each woman’s symptoms, built by pelvic health experts rather than just wellness or fitness teams.”
Why did you apply to the AI Accelerator?
“We applied to scale our personalized care model using advanced AI responsibly. AI is core to Evie’s ability to deliver individualized therapy at scale, and we want to refine our technology and clinical validation alongside leading experts.”
Where do you see your startup in 1 year? And where in 5 years?
“In one year, Evie will be operating across multiple European markets with expanded AI personalization. In five years, we aim to be the leading women’s pelvic health platform globally, integrated into standard healthcare benefits through employers and insurers.”
Which books/podcasts/publications and influencers do you recommend?
“We recommend ‘Remote‘ by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson for building distributed, focused teams, and ‘Invisible Women‘ by Caroline Criado Perez for understanding how gender data gaps impact product design – especially critical in women’s health.”
