Hack the Crisis and The Global Hack

On 13-15 March, Garage48, AccelerateEstonia and the whole startup community in Estonia took action and put together an online hackathon Hack the Crisis to offer solutions how to use tech for crisis response and deal with the post-crisis era. Now events ran by local communities all over the world are popping up to help solve issues for their communities.

On the 9-12th of April many countries joined the movement The Global Hack, which caught media’s attention worldwide. 12,000+ participants from 98 countries came together over a 48hr period to develop practical solutions to tackle COVID-19 head-on.

Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol had the honour to be part of the organization team since the beginning of the first hackathon. Accelerate Estonia, a program initiated by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications together with Science Park Tehnopol, was one of the initiators of The Global Hack.
