Shocking but powerful: “Mihkel”

On November 28, join the movie night at Tehnopol to watch “Mihkel” with us. This movie is a true storytelling based on a journey to find better and happier tomorrow.

Postimees described the film as shocking, but powerful, and said that Estonian public have not seen such thriller for a long time.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, life in Narva remains dark. Mihkel and Vera, who have grown up in the area, dream of a better and happier life, and are ready to do so. The young man agrees to receive the temptingly profitable job offered by his childhood friend Igor, during which he will have to deliver drugs to Iceland. At first glance, a simple plan will soon lead to a life-threatening turn.

Filming of the movie “Mihkel” took place in Iceland and Estonia – in Tallinn, Kaberneeme beach, Narva and Narva-Jõesuu. Director Ari Alexander Magnusson is a well-known artist and filmmaker in Iceland who has been featured in the PÖFF program for the documentary based on presentary music world “Screaming Masterpiece”.
